Eating You Alive

Last week I went to a viewing of the documentary Eating You Alive. I thought it was pretty good actually and very telling. I am more advanced in my vegan walk so most of the information I knew. If I was someone new to this lifestyle, It would have been very informational.  I was very happy to see it featured in Memphis. I think Memphis is becoming more and more vegan/vegetarian friendly. They had some of the same heavy hitters in the field in the movie as other movies such as Forks Over Knives. I do appreciate that this movie had a lot more doctors and revelations from doctors. I hope that it means that more doctors are coming on board with the ideal of a plant based diet.  I also think it was good that the doctors that were featured in the movie were from different states and some were young and old coming to the same conclusion.  I will buy THE DVD when it comes out. The message the movie makes is clear: eating a whole food plant based diet has great benefits for our health.  Eating A plant based diet can change and save your life. Have you seen eating you alive? When it is officially released are you planning on watching it?  If a screening is coming to your area, please go check it out.  I highly recommend it for beginner vegans and people on the fence about the vegan diet.

I AM BACK

It has been a while since I wrote. I was deciding which direction I wanted my blog to go.  So I have a clear understanding of that now. Let’s talk about compassion. I have noticed that the vegan community lacks compassion. I find that interesting that a community that is supposed to be about love and compassion does not seem very compassionate.  I wonder why that is? It is amazing to me how we tend to turn people off from the lifestyle because of the lack of compassion. The Bible states love covers a multitude of sin. So we draw people with love but push them away without it. Another question is how can we show compassion to animals but not to fellow humans? I don’t understand it. I am vegan who started this lifestyle for health reasons but came to learn the about mistreatment of animals. The way animals are killed and treated in this country is indeed wrong but should we treat humans as bad as the animals are treated? Sometimes situations call for us to be the bigger person and still behave with love regardless of how we are treated. We are suppose to love our enemies. That is just my little two cents on the subject. I will be back next week with food I have been eating etc. Have a great day and leave your comments below.
